It doesn't seem so bad when there's not something hanging over us.

You're right, it doesn't. But...och, I don't know. Are ye thinking of staying, then?

[desertdaggers]

[he shakes his head] Too much going on back home. And… well. I miss home and my friends an awful lot.

[bonnypiperlad]

Oh. Aye, I'd not blame ye for going back, then. I just wish it was as easy for me.

[desertdaggers]

Well… what is there you like about staying, and on the other hand, leaving?

[bonnypiperlad]

Well, if I stay, I'll not have to be running from the English, for a start. But Scotland's my home...or it was, at one time, before I met the Doctor.

[desertdaggers]

He changed that?

[bonnypiperlad]

Aye, he did. Ye remember when I came over with that wee Cybermat and the oxygen tank? That was no dream. It's something that I'd actually faced before, when I was with him. We traveled together for years...only I'd forgotten about it. Not by choice, either.

[desertdaggers]

[He nods, but frowns at the last part.] So someone suppressed it? …would they still be after you?

[bonnypiperlad]

[It's a good question, and Jamie considers it for a moment.] The people who did this wouldn't be, I don't think. As far as I'm concerned, they've done what they needed to. And I doubt they'd know that I can remember it again.

We weren't very important to them, Zoe and I. Just the Doctor.

[desertdaggers]

So that might be all right… well, if that's what you want to do. What do you think of staying…?

He's something special, huh?

[bonnypiperlad]

Well, they were his people. That did make a wee bit of difference in things at the time.

[And he has to wonder, just a little, if it'll make another type of difference if he stayed.]

I suppose I could stay, at that. See what I can do to help, aye? Maybe then we'll all be able to live our lives the way we want to.

[desertdaggers]

You mean that other person's?

Mm. We don't know just how much control still lies in someone else's hands…

[bonnypiperlad]

Aye. But staying could be a way to figure that out.

Besides...I don't think I'm ready to forget everything again. Not just yet.

[He nods, gaze dropping.] From my last experience, we didn't remember anything… since you've gone through something like that already, it makes sense you wouldn't want to again.

[bonnypiperlad]

[He nods as well, then reaches out and rests his hand on Hawk's shoulder for a brief moment.]
