[the first thing people will hear when they arrive
in the room with Croix and Wash is loud classical
music from the same composer Caligin used to listen to (though that detail may only strike a few.) but the music is a small detail in this room. many will recognise the cold, forbidding room as one they've seen in secret transmissions sent to them

>On the other hand, you notice that THIS GUY seems just as entertained as THE CHAIRMAN was at the prospect of killing you (though he is MARGINALLY MORE ATTRACTIVE.). He just seems like the LESSER OF TWO EVILS since you're ACTUALLY PRETTY COMFORTABLE in between the SICK MURDER GAMES.
>You can't hold back your TEARS. You can't believe that this is actually happening and that this is a decision that you need to make. Maybe... Maybe if you quietly find the KEY and swallow it or something, it'll just never be found. You only have to make sure that no one sees, otherwise they'll probably GUT YOU LIKE A FISH.
>But before you start looking, you face one of the VISIBLE CAMERAS in the room and stare into it. You raise your hand a little, like a student reluctantly asking a question.
"S-sir! If I may, a small correction - please know that not all of us want to leave!"

That's my preference, and I do realize that I could be the only one who feels this way. Anything over going back.

Everyone says that. Going back simply isn't worthwhile - from the start I preferred being here, so why would I bother risking my life for something inferior? I like the other people who are trapped here, I've had a place to live, I haven't been starving or anything, received no random beatings and very minimal harassment... Even if things were to get severe, these people have been exceptionally kind and strong, especially when dealing with a delicate thing like myself.
- If I had my way, I'd keep all of them here as well.

Ah, yes. It's really lucky, isn't it? Becoming famous with absolutely no effort...
>You're vain enough that you don't even recognize this as exploitation, or if you do, you don't care. You're famous. You're liked. You're valuable. You glance around the room, taking in the others' looks of general annoyance.
Considering how much this sort of operation must cost and with our access to things within the town, even without a concrete salary and, I guess, the noticeable prestige of being famous "actors," the compensation has actually been very good.
I suppose not everyone would agree with that.

No, not everyone would. I'd say the odds are very, very slim. Although... [he looks off to the side, the sounds of papers rustling off-screen can be heard] Marketing hasn't exactly been able to find something to promote you. It's becoming quite the problem, actually.

How is that possible? I'm by far the most beautiful and fashionable one here, so I would imagine-
>You stop abruptly and start to massage at your temples.
What, is it because I'm not a strong heroic type? Because I wasn't born with any kind of mystical powers? Too ordinary? Too passive?
There's a child with cat ears and a tail over there and I'm fairly certain that it's the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life. How am I supposed to compete with that?

You can't be cute, you're an adult and you don't have your ears anymore! But you can probably still be beautiful or fashionable. Or whatever else you said.

Wait, where you're from everyone loses their ears when they lose their virginity?
>Okay, you're not even trying to hold it back anymore. You giggle obnoxiously because that is the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard. It quickly fades to regular old snickering.
I wouldn't have them anyway, but just so you know that's not how it works anywhere but wherever the hell you were dragged in from.

You believe the different worlds thing too? [Sigh] None of you make any sense.
