Stuffage.
Had to snag a new PS2 controller today after one of my existing ones got possessed or something. o_O;; To test it out, I popped in one of the games I recently picked up; Dawn of Mana.
Now, this poor game, a scion of the Seiken Densetsu series I adore, has gotten some truly sucktastic reviews. I have to admit, even in playing just twenty odd minutes of it, I see where they're coming from about the controls and whatnot. And the camera is rather.. um.. demented. But frankly, I ran into the same issues with Gurumin, only without the help of a second analog stick to maintain SOME control over the damn swirly camera view.
Looks wise, this thing is GORGEOUS. The music is great, the cinemas in a mere five minutes are dazzling and.. um.. glowy? XD ..Oh, and the voice acting is YAY. Hehe, Wisp/Lumina has a French accent, hoho! Perhaps she should be LUMINEUX instead?? ...Well, I DID get the name from the Seiken Densetsu series, so nyaha.
In spite of the funky controls, I intend to give this game a chance. Here's hoping it doesn't become as frustrating as Odin Sphere can be after a five month break... x_x GUUUHHHHH.
I'm giving FFIV DS a few days before I kick it into gear to play my new game 'plus' with all my pre-existing Decants. XD
In the meantime, however-- it's off to Azeroth with me! XD
