Exciting Stuff!!

Much has been happening and I hardly have time to recap it all. One of the best things though is today I got my

I've been carrying all this around for almost a year. I measured and nearly 50cm (19in) of that tubing was wound up inside me. I'll have 2 small scars (one on my stomach and one near my collar bone) to remind me of it, but that's it. From now on I'll have to get injections & blood tests done with needles, and that I'm not looking forward to.

It's a very awesome thing (I can go swimming & take baths now! and I don't have an extra appendage to worry about anymore!) but it is a weird feeling having to let go of something that's been so familiar (& useful) for so long. I don't think it will take me long to get over it though :)

Today I also started my "maintenance" treatment. That means I now get to take up to 16 pills a day, but I only have to go into the hospital every now and then. No more daily or weekly visits. I've been (nearly) set free. I had to get some chemo today, and in 2 weeks I will need another lumbar puncture (I might be in double digits now) but after that I'll be off to the US and not worrying about hospital stuff for a bit. It's definitely scary, but I know I'll manage as I have come this far already.
