So a while ago I read a book called The World is Flat, by Thomas L. Friedman. It was terrifically insightful, and I still suggest people read it. But even more importantly, people should go read this week's New York Times Magazine cover article.

It describes why changing our society to become more environmentally conscious will be a tremendously important goal, and why we should be striving to achieve that change. It speaks to why I am so currently dissatisfied with all our presidential hopefuls; not a single one of them addresses the issue upon which the future of our whole planet will rest. It is one more of the ever-increasing number of wake-up calls about the environment.

I only hope that people can come to realize how important action is, and soon.
