Picspam: Oh Scully, why art thou so fair?

"To be thought of as simply a beautiful woman was bridling, unthinkable. But she was beautiful... fatally, stunningly prepossessing."

So you know how it is. You're watching an episode of The X Files, and you find yourself not being able to concentrate on anything that's being said, because you're so damn distracted by the purely insane level of pretty that is Special Agent Dana Scullaaaaaay, MD. You then find yourself pausing the DVD at random intervals so that you can sigh dramatically, and wax lyrical over how Scully must be a better person than you, because if you were that gorge, you would spend ALL THE DAMN DAY ADMIRING YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR.

JUST ME?

Thought not. So, to try and circumvent my feelings of lust admiration into something productive, I have created this picspam of ten episodes that immediately spring to mind when I think of the pretty. I appreciate that opinions will differ as to her fairest episodes, and there will be countless others that also deserve mention, but these are personal to me. Also, they are in no specific order (other than alphabetical) because trying to choose between the pretty is like trying to choose my favourite episode of the series. IT CANNOT BE DONE. Enjoy, my fellow Scullyists.

Talking of favourite episode of the series, Bad Blood possibly has to be the front runner. Because it's pretty much one of the funniest things ever. Awesome episode, with the added bonus that Scully be looking damn fiiiine. Her hair and makeup looks fab, plus she pulls some pretty spectacular facial expressions too. Let's be honest here.

Ah, Beyond the Sea. The very first Scullycentric episode, and a bloody brilliant one too. You gotta love Brad Dourif. I have to admit however, that a major reason I think so fondly of this great episode is entirely shallow in nature. Scullay looks adorable throughout. Basically, BTS!Scully is the height of season one, baby-faced cuteness.

Okay, Hungry is an entirely forgettable episode. IMO, at least. The whole 'let's have an episode from the POV of the MOTW rather than Mulder and Scully' thing totally doesn't work, because, let's face it, Mulder and Scully are why a majority of people watch the freaking show in the first place. But gah, look at her. If that isn't PURE GRADE A HAWTNESS, then what is? How Mulder ever gets anything done is beyond me. And vice versa, of course.

How could there be a list of the most beautiful Scully episodes without Milagro? An episode devoted to that great big white elephant in the room that no one ever mentions, the fact that Scully is really, really hot. I honestly dread to think how many broken hearts our heroine must have left in her wake. And it makes me laugh to think of Scully walking down the road and being followed by a long line of her various stalkers/admirers. Do you think they had a club? Scullyaholics Anonymous, co-founded by Melvin Frohike and Special Agent Pendrell of the FBI.

The bar scene in Never Again? Oh my God. And the 'getting a tattoo and seemingly becoming aroused by the pain' scene? OH MY GOD. My Scullylust has never been stronger. She looks so beautiful in this episode, it's crazy. Yes, even crazier than a tattoo that sounds like Jodie Foster.

A bit of an unpopular opinion, but I actually love Roadrunners. Yeah, the Jebus Slug is a whole load o'silly. But the rest of the episode has that wonderful tense atmosphere and sense of isolation about it. And yes, Scully looks gorge. Her hair is all pretty and super duper red, and in all honesty, how can you not like an episode that has our favourite 'medical doctor' all sweaty and writhing around in a tight, cleavagetastic, tank top? Scully should always always wear that top.

Hey, talking of tight, cleavagetastic tank tops. WELL PLAYED SCULLZ, WELL PLAYED. I remember cheering out loud whilst watching The Sixth Extinction. Because of the tank top? No. Because of the overdue demise of The Fowl One? No. And yes, I know that actually happens in Amor Fati, whatevs Because we finally saw a return of the beloved Scullyglasses. YAY. And our Scullay was once again transformed into the hottest geek in the known universe. And look at that fabulous hair. Why oh why did she get it all hacked off later in the season? Goddamn you Pfaster.

I just can't resist that wonderful smile. It's incredibly rare that Scully really smiles properly, and her awesomely cute giddiness in Sunshine Days turns me to mush. I have issues with where the episode is placed in the run of the season (oh hai i gave my bb up for adopshun like two episodz ago but lol who cares BRADY BUNCH YAY LOL), but I like the episode itself. Scully looks fabulous in season nine. I adore her awesomely tailored and perfectly fitting suits, and sexy, longer hair.

Teliko is another great example of an entirely forgettable episode that is nonetheless deserving of many rewatches, simply because Scully looks amazing. After much deliberation, I have come to the conclusion that season four is the most beautiful Scully season overall. It's where she transforms from blossoming young woman to absolute freaking knockout. Season six and early season seven (before the shorter 'do) would come in a close second, in my extremely humble opinion.

It's only fitting that both Scully and Mulder look awesome in the final episode of the series. There's definitely something about Scully in The Truth. The conflicting emotions she feels, joy over seeing Mulder again, fear for his situation, sorrow over having to give their son up for adoption, are all so apparent, and that makes her beautiful IMO. Plus, I LOVE HER HAIR. Gawd, y'all must think I'm Donnie Pfaster with how obsessed I am with her hair. I'm not. Honest.

So. Opinions? Thoughts? General musings? Flames? Speak away good people.
