Choutarou sat frustrated on his bed fumbling with one thing or another that was near him. He was glad his family had just gotten home. It meant they hadn’t heard the argument that had just finished. Choutarou bit his lip and looked over at Shishido who was sitting on the other side of the room on his computer chair. He couldn’t deal with this anymore. It was the second one this week and the forth one this month.
“Shishido-san…” The older male looked up at him in surprise, shocked that Choutarou was actually talking to him right now. “I’m sorry, but this isn’t working out anymore.” Choutarou said quietly to his boyfriend of almost two years.
Shishido froze for a moment. ‘What?’ He gave Choutarou a skeptical look. “What are you saying?”
It was a stupid question really. He knew exactly what the younger male was saying. They’d been fine before Choutarou reached high school, but as soon as the taller male graduated from middle school and started the tenth grade, they’re relationship hit a lot of bumps.
When Choutarou entered high school he’d had to make the decision of whether he wanted to join the tennis club or music club. If he joined the tennis club he’d have to put music on hold. If he joined the music club, he’d be giving up his chance to play doubles with Shishido again.
Shishido of course thought he should join the tennis club. He made a show of continually pointing out the fact. He couldn’t understand why Choutarou couldn’t decide. Maybe it was because Choutarou has always seemed to follow just everything that he said. When Choutarou explained that he was actually considering music over tennis a small argument started.
In the end Choutarou did choose music. It wasn’t like he was giving up tennis. He would still play. He just wouldn’t be playing for school team. Shishido wasn’t exactly trilled with the decision and most of the time he showed his discontent.
They argued every now and then over Choutarou’s decision, nearly each dispute ending in them not speaking to each other for a while. Most of the not speaking done by Choutarou, who would be angry at Shishido for trying to make his decisions for him.
“I’m saying that maybe we shouldn’t be together any more.” The silver haired teen answered.
“So you’re breaking up with me?” Shishido asked, not really believing it.
Choutarou nodded. “Yes I am. You know why.”
“You’re not serious are you? I mean you’ll think this over and everything will be fine tomorrow.” Choutarou wasn’t seriously breaking up with him, was he? No, he was just upset and letting his emotions talk for him.
The younger of the two shook his head. “I’m very serious Shishido-san. I can’t deal with this anymore. We’re always fighting. This isn’t good for either one of us.”
Shishido nodded slightly, Choutarou’s words sinking in. This was really happening and there was nothing he could do to stop it. “What about playing tennis together?”
“We can still play. We’re a team right?” They ‘were’ a team.
“Yeah we are.” Shishido answered slowly, standing up. “I should go.” He added after a moment and pulled his at the brim of his hat. “See ya Choutarou.”
“Bye Shishido-san” Choutarou said as Shishido left his room and proceeded to leave the house.
He flopped back onto his bed, knowing that they probably wouldn’t be playing together for a while. He shook his head slightly as tears began to fall down his cheeks and he rolled over and cried himself to sleep. Maybe everything would be better tomorrow, but then again tomorrow wouldn’t change what happened today.
