(no subject)
Ah, ah, I am all excited tonight. I finished this semester's essays and did a small Latin test today (dicebitisne hos verbos esse verum) so I escaped to the city after my lectures and went to see Bunny and the Bull ♥ I'm happy I saw Withnail & I earlier, so I could catch on that specific mentality in this film as well, even though I am more inclined (as always) to see that there never was a trip at all, that Bunny's only in Stephen's head (that he has never left from his apartment). But how it filled me with wonderlust for Europe, and of course it was one of those films that listed where they visited "should you want to recreate their trip..." (darling let's go) and ah, the soundtrack is playing in my head.
(Although Händel's Saul is not leaving me either. I dream of Bute Hall again, I keep thinking of the space and how the orchestra is playing in your head for the whole night after it. Capricious man, in humour lost, / By ev'ry wind of passion toss'd! / Now sets his vassal on the throne, / Then low as earth he casts him down! / His temper knows no middle state, / Extreme alike in love or hate. I almost wish I had a paper to write on Creon and Saul, I keep comparing them in my mind and wishing I had the excuse to find more of similar king images in classical literature (which I could then compare to images in modern literature and--))
They turned on the lights of the Christmas tree on campus just long enough for me to take a photo!
