There were only two things that stuck out in my mind from today's game. Please don't take offense, but it was a nice game. However, it was not the kind of close game that I would have enjoyed, especially with all the penalties and mistakes that both teams were making throughout the game. The major highlights for me were a commercial and the trick play near the end.
The commercial was the one that was for FedEx that had the dinosaurs that was about midway through the first quarter. That was some seriously funny stuff and I hope that they continue to show it again. There were a few others that were okay, but otherwise I thought that most of the commercials were not that great compared to many from the past...
That trick play near the end that looked like a reverse that put the Steelers up for good was creative and used perfectly. I think that I heard that it was the first time that a receiver has thrown for a touchdown in Super Bowl history. I think that Bill Cower should get a lot credit for pulling out a trick play on the biggest game of the year, especially since it worked.
The only other thought that I wanted to share was that I thought that the entertainment was not as good or exciting as I would have expected for a game if this magnitude. I just don't think that it will be one that sticks out in my mind for years to come. Not that it was bad, it just was not an overly impressive performance by any of them that were involved in it...
