It was a flight that only lasted 73 seconds, but it will always be (or should be) remembered!
The facts that surround the situation are all very interesting... I was looking at a bunch of links and articles about it when earlier today, I read a report by James Oberg that was very telling about some of the things that are "left out" of the real story. James Oberg is a NBC News space analyst who spent 22 years at NASA's Johnson Space Center as a Mission Control operator and orbital designer. So, he know a thing or two about the process and what would have to be done for some of the things to have happened in a certain way as they did that horrible day in the history of the space program.
His article which is available online was very fascinating as it tells the cold hard facts and destroys 7 myths that surrounds this tragedy. I found it very different, especially in light of what the media's version of the story was... The story should provide valuable lessons that can be applied in many areas of life and knowing the truth is so important to realizing this. So, my hope is that people will appreciate the true story as it really was on that fateful day 20 years ago! For those of you that was alive that day, does anyone remember anything that they feel like sharing?
