While I had no reason to care about the final outcome game, I gave in to some of the hype and picked a winner. I really wanted Texas to win and they did it! Actually, I take that back, it wasn't so much that I wanted Texas to win, but that I really didn't want USC to win... Also, because most "experts" were picking USC to win and I wanted the real underdog to win (Texas was #2 in the various polls almost all year). I hope no-one was to die-hard for USC to win tonight!
The only real 'request' that I had for the game was a good closely competitive game that was close until the end... Well, I got this wish granted! I think this was among the best College Football Championships that has been played in years. So many great plays. So many good executions at the right time and place. I agree that there were also several blown calls that were a benefit to each team. Yes, I think both teams got breaks and also got screwed over but in the end it was pretty evenly distributed.
Finally, college football is over and we can switch over to college basketball. This is great timing because they have turned the page and have begun to play games that are meaningful - conference play. These games are crucial towards determining what king of success the teams will have. These games are also important towards getting a solid record and ultimately a bid to the Big Dance (NCAA March Madness). I love college hoops, because most of the kids are still doing it for the love of the game... That is what makes it so special.
Well, this is enough about sports for now... Again, congratulations to Texas!
