The Man Who Saved a Billion Lives

Sep 15, 2009 09:22

Norman Borlaug died two days ago, at ninety-five. He literally, no hyperbole, saved more lives than anyone else in history. It is so fucked up that I can't find a good high-profile article about this. Almost as fucked up as how I barely know who he is-- if Penn and Teller hadn't brought him up, I wouldn't know at all. I've never run into any other acknowledgment of Borlaug's work that close to mainstream without searching for it specifically.

I should do some reading.
