It's Only Been Four Months Since My Last Post

That seems like long enough.

The last time I posted, I had just returned from Houston. This time, I'm a few days away from heading down to New Orleans. It's another work trip that I am morphing into a vacation once I'm done with my time at the trade show. I am very excited for the trip, mostly because it's New Orleans and I haven't been there since I was 16, but also because Dave will be there. And even though he won't have the few free days that I will, I know I will at least get to spend the evenings with him. Not to mention, this trip is costing me pretty much nothing.

Other life highlights:
  • I never got my kitty, but the whole experience did get Dave to stop teasing me about getting one.
  • My fish, Bonk, is not well. If he doesn't die of natural causes before we leave, I'm going to have to "put him down." I don't know what the fish equivalent of that procedure is, but I know it will involve a toilet.
  • Oh yeah, I made with the oldening this month. Dave got be a stunning pair of sapphire and diamond earrings. I wear them everyday.
  • I had a minor car fiasco this past weekend. After five years, I finally needed new tires. There was some question as to which tires I had, which ones I wanted, and which I was actually getting. (My little car really doesn't need V-rated tires, even though that's what it came with). Anyway, I got my tires, met up with Megan for lunch and presents, and then came home to find out that one of my tires was on backwards. That has since been corrected, but God, why was the whole process so difficult?
  • The never-ending basement renovation is coming to a close, hopefully, shortly after we return from New Orleans. It really just needs some paint, trim, furniture and a new TV. (For two people, we have a lot of flat screen televisions.)
  • I will be going to see Gary Numan in October. I am undecided about Covenent.
  • I continue to read more than is necessary or, likely, good for me. I keep meaning to make a list of everything that I've read, but I go through one to two books each week, so it's gotten difficult to remember. I'm currently reading The Queen's Fool by Philipa Gregory. I read The Other Boleyn Girl a few weeks ago and liked it so much I decided to check out more of her stuff. Also, the whole English court scene with kings and queens plotting against one another was the only part of history class that I ever found very interesting, so while it's mostly fiction, I'd like to think I'm getting my knowledge on during my reading.
And that's kind of the state of things. As before, I read LJ everyday, but more often than not post life-snippets on Facebook. Hope all is well in LJ-land. See you in another four months =)
