Burlington Free Press: Gay marriage legalized in Vermont

This is apparently the first time this has happened via legislature, and an exciting and nail biting legislation it was, requiring an override of the Governor's veto, an override which the Vermont House just managed to pull through with exactly the number of required votes.

The only thing the reporting of this issue perplexes me on is that everyone's saying this is the 4th state to legalize gay marriage, but last week everyone said Iowa was the 4th state to legalize gay marriage. They can't both be 4th to do it. I'm guessing Iowa was really 3rd, but... maybe there's an apples and oranges problem going on here? Dunno.
