Those of you who, after reading the last entry, were cruelly left thinking, "But Amanda, whatever did you do on Friday?! And what of Saturday afternoon and early evening?? We can't bear any gaps in the detailing of your weekend! Please! We must know!"...this one's for you.
Friday, Crystal and I went to Earthen Jar in Ann Arbor and had the delicious Indian food one can only get there, short of having Indian friends willing to cook for you (one of my as-yet unfulfilled aspirations in life). We sat next to a group of three incredibly obnoxious, verbose people. It's so tiny in there that you really can't help but hear the conversations of the diners around you (and in our case, we really tried to help it). There was copious eye-rolling, but we still managed to enjoy ourselves immensely. From there we hoofed it to a coffee shop, filled up on iced chai, sang the same Beck song out loud, twice, then went to the Diag and sat on the grass. Some odd young man in magenta robes circled us once, then went back to sit with his comrades. It was either a dare or he was hoping to spark some kind of reaction from us. Didn't work, we're far too smooth to fall prey to such things.
Then we went home and watched a few episodes of Flight of the Conchords. Then Nick called, and it was then I realized my two-week-old phone was thoroughly broken. We couldn't hear each other at all, and the phone would give up and power down after about 30 seconds, so Crystal let me use hers because she's a sweetheart like that.
Fast-forward to Saturday morning. After a quick breakfast of scrambled eggs with spinach (and toast!), Crystal swings me by the Verizon store. Luckily I was able to get a shiny (even) new(er) phone with no hassling or extensive questioning by the Verizon people, and so now I have one that is completely devoid of the scratches I put on my old new one the first day I had it! Yay weird fortuitous accidents. Then we were compelled to venture to Old Navy because it was just next door, and I was further compelled to purchase a spandexy racerback exercise top thinger (good for biking!), and some workout capris.
Then I was dropped home, where I fashioned a big ol' salad out of an avocado, a tomato, some tuna, cashews, and some lettucey-type things, and then Dana came over and we went to the new WCC gym because I had two guest passes and Dana was interested in checking out the gym before renewing her membership at the Washtenaw Rec Center. We only managed a 45-minute workout before they closed (At 6! on a Saturday!), and then I went home and ended up sitting on my neighbor's porch for four hours (one glass of white whine* turned into three and a half -- she's a talker and I was bored). Then I ran home and got myself ready for clubtime with Angela. Then we went. And that concludes the filling in of the gaps in my last entry. You may all breathe easily!
