Right, so.  Latest batch of weird. No idea what's going on except people aren't themselves.  And not the not selves they were when everyone managed to switch with each other.  These are totally separate selves.  So would everyone in town PLEASE comment with their name here?  Or what you think your name is so I can compare it against what your name ( Read more... )

Reid here. I'm still Spencer. And I checked with Hotch and Jack, they're the same too.

This is one of those strange happenings, isn't it? Mass hallucination? Is there a way of finding out who was where yesterday? We might be able to find a pattern of who would be affected. Like for example, if they were all at the bank, we might be able to find something there to explain what had happened. Like someone put LSD on the envelopes.

Okay, good. Definitely good.

Definitely one of the strange happenings. I'm not sure it's mass hallucinations, but I'm not sure how we can find out. There's not really CCTV or anything in town. We could go ask the people who work at stores and stuff, but they might be affected, too.

We can talk to friends and family who weren't affected, if possible. But a good place to start would be the locations people were when they realized they weren't where they were supposed to be. This reminds me a bit of a few of the cases I've worked, where finding intersects in where people were helped us figure out what had happened.

That's a good plan. I can ask everyone here where they think they were and compile a list if that helps you.

That would be excellent. I've got a map of the town already, and I'll see what kind of geographic profile I can come up with. The more information I can get, the more accurate the map will be.

If it helps, though, this already looks better than the cases of which it reminded me.

Okay. So far, everyone says they woke up in the beds of the people they're supposed to be. Which is randomly dispersed through town. I'll keep compiling and then give you people's addresses so you can see if there's a pattern or something.

Does it?

Private to Lulu: I don't want to cause panic. Yes, it looks better because no one has died. The cases I'm referring to involve poisonings, including one where a man poisoned envelopes and candies at a bank with LSD, and another where a man developed weaponized anthrax spores and released them in a park and a bookstore. (We caught him before his final target though, which was an Army base that had rejected him repeatedly.)

Poisons. Um. Right. I don't mean to sound completely insane or anything, Spencer, but here, things don't really tend to be evil masterminds or anything of the sort. Glad there haven't been deaths, though.

Those cases were in a small New Jersey town and a Washington DC suburb. I know I sound paranoid, but they can happen anywhere. Trust me. Though I'm also not claiming that there is some evil genius behind this. But if we establish a pattern of those who were affected, we might find something they were all exposed to that made them think they turned into other people.

I am also really glad no one's dead.

No, it doesn't really sound that paranoid. I just don't necessarily know that all of the weird things that happen here can be figured out logically, you know? If there is a pattern, though that might be helpful for next time

Okay, I went through as many records as I could find on the town boards and have come up with a preliminary geographic profile of the odd occurrences. I used a MAP of town and plotted out the locations of the major happenings. (Yellow is the current event, green is when people changed genders, pink is when they swapped bodies (though I'm still working on where they were actually located during the switch) and blue is when they were turned into younger versions of themselves. The red triangles mark mysterious arrivals, though I know I am still missing many ( ... )

Oh, wow. Um. There's another person who was staying at the hotel who has recently been affected. Somehow I'm not remotely surprised that my house has the most activity.

So arrivals are downtown but the events happen in more residential areas? What does that tell us?

Well, the events seem to happen overnight, so it would make sense that the people affected would be at home at that point. But other than saying "People who live in your house or in the castle are more likely to have something mess with them", I'm not sure what to make of the results. Wesley Crusher is going to put some sensors in the geographic center of the activity, to see if there are unusual energy patterns. But I'm not sure if this is a futile exercise or not. I'm trying desperately to make some sense of this.

Okay. Just wondering if there was something I missed. Um, if Wesley needs any help with the sensors or wants to put one somewhere in the house, let me know.
