This week has been great, which is surprising...because I was PMSing, but I was not aware...and therefore not cranky. Moving on. Thursday I took Jimmy out to the Cheesecake Factory for his BIRTHDAY because he turned 20 on Saturday! YAY! We both had amazing food and split awesome cheesecake. It was a very nice dinner. Then we met up with Matt and Becca on Thayer St. and just hung around the East Side and caught up with one another. Jimmy had a glass bottle thrown at him...oh Providence. Then Jimmy and I got into a pretty deep conversation about the past, and moving on and such. We went to Coffee and Cream to finish it up, but we some how got to talking about me and my lack of excitement and even disdain for going back to dear ol' Ass Co. He is sort of like my therapist, but I like to think I do the same for him. I do ramble a lot, though. woops. Anywho, I very much appreciated him listening to me rant and rave. Then I got upset with myself because I realized...not everyone gets to go to college and I should SHUT UP. So I did. It was a really great night. On Friday I worked during the day...it was a scorcher, and I had to change the message on the Sunshine sign. IT WAS SO HOT! The letters wouldn't stick to the suction cup contraption you use to change the sign...more and more customers were coming, so I would have to stop with the sign and help my co-worker wait on them. As I finished the sign, we got our usual Friday delivery from Rhode Island Fruit and Syrup. They bring us...syrup, jimmies, hot fudge, cups, napkins, trays, and CONES. We need to used Jacketed cones for health purposes. The guy that came...who was not the usual delivery man...left unjacketed cones. I asked him about it and he gave me an attitude. I called my manager, John. I left him a message on his phone to call me back. About and hour later...still no call. I decide to call the owner, Marty. He tells me he will call right back. 45 minutes later...no call. My cell phone rings, and its my mother. "ALLYSE, WHERE ARE YOU?" "Work" I said. She proceeds to tell me that she has tried calling Sunshine three times and no one has answered. I ask her to call Sunshine again, because I assume there is a problem. The light on the phone started to flash like it does when its ringing...figuring it was my mother I picked up the phone and said "Hello" instead of "Sunshine". It was Marty. oye. He didn't know what was going on, he had been trying to call my back for 45 minutes. I tried to explain to him that the phone wasn't ringing and how I figured it out...but I couldn't hear him and he couldn't hear me. It was a terrible conversation, and I felt really terrible. He had to ask me to stop talking because we couldn't hear each other. ugh I felt really uneasy for the rest of the afternoon. Turns out someone turned the ringer off on the phone, and all of these issues could have been solved when John had called me back...only I never got that call...because the ringer was off...GRRRRRRR. STRESS. Anyyyyyyway. After work I RAN home and got ready to go see Becca's show. I made myself look nice and then met Jimmy at a Tourist stop on the side of 95...sketchy I know...so I could follow him to Foxborough. The show was FOOTLOOSE and it was INCREDIBLE. I was so proud of my Becca. She should have played the lead, but the politics of the casting didn't work in her favor. The whole show was awesome. Brian, Leslie, Kelleigh, Mike C, and Megs Y went to see the show with Jimmy and I. Afterward we all made plans to go to the 99 to catch up. Matty A had arrived from Block Island to join us. I got to my car and guess who has another f'ing flat tire???? ALLYSE DOES! ok...so what is this...number 5...6 maybe. RI-DIC-U-LOUS! I ALWAYS GET FLATS! No one else..just me. This time I let it roll off my back. I wasn't at fault...I had driven over a nail. I called AAA, they came just as we finished eating, changed my tire, we sang Jimmy Happy Birthday at midnight, and then we all went our separate ways. It turned out to be another great night, considering the circumstances. I went to Nicole's house and fell asleep immediately. This morning we woke up, made pancakes, hung around and then said goodbye because I leave on Friday for round 3 at Ass Co. It was sad to say goodbye...because it is for such a long time. I started remembering saying goodbye to her the first time...there were tears. Not this time, but it was still upsetting. Came home, packed all my school stuff (excluding clothing) and then worked. Saturday night was weird. I usually work Sunday nights, and there is no retro pop reunion on Saturday nights. haha oh Sunshine. Jimmy was telling me about a theory he has...that all ice cream people have a weird obsession and loyalty to their particular ice cream shoppe. I agree wholeheartedly with that theory. Besides having to say goodbye to two of my bests this week (Jade on Wednesday...she is at Foxwoods for a cooking internship...good luck, Jadester!)it's been a pretty decent week. Its a shocker, but I get to see my friends again tomorrow. Just as summer is picking up, I'm shipping out. It's a dern shame, let me tell ya. ::Sigh:: I must go to bed. I am opening in 9 hours. UGH!
goodnight
(I need to go back to school. I cringed rereading this with all my to be verbs and comma splices...ugh. Yet I'm entirely to tired to change them/care at all.)
