*~*~*~*~*~*
I sat on the sand, my eyes on the stars that heavily covered night sky. I didn’t get to see them this clearly back home, and the difference was amazing. Where back home I was lucky to see three or four, here I could see millions of them, shining stunningly bright in the sky even when the sun still lingered on thee horizon.
A slight movement caused me to focus my attention on the lapful of brunette I currently had. I looked down and saw that he still had his arm covering his eyes. After realizing that he had cried in front of me, he had gotten pretty self-conscious. I thought it was cute seeing that side of him but he didn’t really agree with me.
“Donghae,” I called softly, not knowing if he had fallen asleep or not. I shook his arm lightly. “Dongh-“ my words were cut off as he sat up and suddenly had me pinned down up under him.
“Hmm?” he questioned with a sly smile on his lips.
“W-what are you doing?” I asked, mind reeling from the 180 degree change.
He leaned down and let his nose lightly connect with my skin, leaving a blazing trail as he slowly traced an invisible line from my neck to my cheek and then up to my ear.
“Nothing. What are you thinking about?” he whispered in my ear, before returning to his previous task.
  “N-now?”
  “Mm hmm.”
“Uh… I’m thinking about how Leeteuk hyung’s face gets really red when he’s angry,” I said, almost chuckling when Donghae’s head snapped up and scrambled to his feet so he could run from Leeteuk, who ended up chasing him halfway down the beach.
I laughed and looked over to where the rest of the group sat. I hadn’t noticed that they had packed everything up and were getting ready to go. I walked over to apologize for not helping, but they waved me off, saying how I looked like I had my hands full pointing towards Donghae who had slowed down to laugh at how Leeteuk was getting slow in his old age. The rest of us burst out in laughter at the beating that followed.
A few minutes later, Leeteuk walked back over, looking quite pleased with himself.
“Hyuk, make sure you tell me the next time he bothers you. I’ll take care of it,” he smiled sweetly at me, and I looked behind him to where Donghae was pulling his head of out the sand.
“Yes, Teukie hyung. I will.” He nodded at me and ruffled my hair before walking over to join Kangin. I looked between Donghae and the group that slowly made their way off of the beach and shrugged before following the group.
“Hyukkie!” I heard Donghae whine in the distance.
I turned around and saw him running to catch up with me. He ran right up to me and flashed me a smile and a happy smile graced my lips when I saw the sad look in his eyes was finally gone. I looked up and noticed he still had sand in his hair. Laughing softly, I reached up to brush it away.
“There you go,” I said, pulling my hand away. He quickly caught it and laced his fingers with mine.
“Thanks,” he said, giving me a smile and using his hold on me to pull me closer. “Come on, I’ll walk you home,” he offered.
He pulled me away from the group as I shouted my good-byes to everyone. Donghae very blatantly ignored the threats from Leeteuk, even going so far as to pull me closer into his side, only to release me and pull me away as he ran from Leeteuk who was running after us.
When we finally reached the door to the house, he looked around carefully, hiding me behind his back.
“Donghae, I doubt he followed us all the way here. You don’t have to be so paranoid.”
“He shouldn’t be so overprotective,” he muttered as he scanned the streets one last time. I laughed a little and his gaze landed back on my face.
“You look so guilty, like you’re doing something you have no business doing,” I laughed a bit harder. He smirked before reaching over to pin me against the door.
“Not yet I’m not,” he said. “But give me a minute and I’ll see what I can do.” His smirk grew as my eyes widened.
“D-donghae. Cut it out,” I said, squirming around as he held me in place.
“No can do. We’ve been interrupted all day today. But now I finally have you to myself.” Not giving me any chance to retaliate he quickly covered my lips with his, causing all protest to die in my throat.
He pressed himself closer to me, holding me up as I felt my knees weaken from the way his lips danced against mine. He was gentle but firm as his thin lips pressed against mine coercing me to move with his. I could feel the heat spreading from his lips to mine as soon as we connected, rising until it covered my entire face in a red tint. Before I knew it, my hands were wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer to me, wanting to eliminate any space that could keep me from the warmth of his body.
I could feel him smile into the kiss as he felt me respond and somewhere in the back of my mind I wanted to pull away so I could wipe off the smug look I knew was on his face, but the rest of my mind and my body would gladly let it stay if he kept kissing me like this.
Unfortunately, for both of us, air was a necessity, so we broke apart slowly, my breath coming out in pants and feeling more than a little light-headed.
“Mmm,” he whispered, slipping his tongue out to slowly trace the curve of my bottom lip while I suppressed a soft moan. “You taste better than I remeber.”
He pulled back slightly so I could see the intense look of suppressed desire in his dark eyes. I blinked slowly, trying to clear my head and resist the urge to kiss him again.
Chuckling lightly, he leaned over to whisper in my ear. “Good night, Hyukkie.” He pulled away from me to show me a smile, one that I couldn’t quite read before turning away to leave while I stared after him, still relying on the door to support me. I watched him get further and further as I tried to shake the feeling of his lips on mine and the nagging sense of déjà vu I was feeling.

“Donghae, where are we going?” I asked, letting Donghae pull me down the street. We hadn’t spent a lot of time together in the past two weeks because the beach had been particularly busy, and as soon as I told him I had a free day he showed up on my doorstep with a silly grin and mischievous look in his eyes.
“You’ll find out soon enough,” he said looking back at me. I just sighed and let him drag me, unconsciously tightening my grip on his hand.
He stopped abruptly in front of me and I barely stopped myself before I crashed into his back. He turned around to face me, smile still in place and moved behind me to place his hands over my eyes.
“Donghae, is this really necessary?” I asked trying to fight the smile I felt rising up from excitement.
“Yes, it is. Hyukkie,” he said while leading me forward from behind, “you trust me right?”
“Ok, I’m really curious now. We are going somewhere where there are witnesses- I mean other people around, right?” I heard his laugh from behind me.
“There had better not be,” he said and I could hear the smirk in his voice. He turned me in a different direction and I could feel the ground change from under my feet.
“Is this sand? Are we on the beach?” I asked and a familiar smell suddenly hit my nose. I froze instantly.
“You didn’t,” I said as he removed his hands from my face. The color drained from my face as I took in the sight of the sea, dancing viciously in front of my eyes. We were on a very secluded part of the beach and that only increased the panic I felt coursing through me.
“D-donghae-“ he quickly grabbed my face in his hands and looked right into my eyes.
“Hyukkie, calm down,” he said, sensing the distress I was in. “You trust me right?”
I closed my eyes tightly, trying to stop the sick feeling in my stomach and the slight trembling of my hands. “But-“
“Do you trust me?” I opened my eyes and looked into his brown ones, and I knew he see could the internal battle I was having. He gently rubbed my face, coaxing an answer out. I bit my lip, but I did trust him… at least enough to know he wouldn’t let me drown.
“O..kay?” I barely got out. He grinned widely and leaned in to press his lips to mine in a chaste, reassuring kiss.
“Remember, I guard lives for a living. You won’t drown in anything… except my eyes,” he said cheesily, even going so far as to wiggle his eyebrow at me.
I managed to get out a laugh that started to turn borderline hysteric as he pulled me closer and closer to the endless blue abyss in front of us. I swallowed heavily, slightly dragging my feet as he pulled to my death lesson.
