Life has been so hectic these last couple of days, and I think I've been the most disorganised I've ever been for the New Year. Anyway, it's done, so I'm just going to do a brief version of my normal looking back posts. (Then curl up and enjoy the last hours of relaxation before heading back to work tomorrow.)
I think the most significant thing is that for the first time in too many years to count, I've got to this time of year and it has felt like it has been a good year, rather than having to remind myself that good stuff did happen. I mean good stuff did happen, but the fact I don't have to remind myself of that is phenomenal.
Good stuff:
- lost some of the weight I wanted to
- wrote loads
- knitted in the round successfully
- made a cv and managed to consider (and even apply for one) job adverts without disintegrating into a sobbing mess
- tutored a little more
- managed to be more social
- fitter than this time last year
Aims for 2013:
- lose some more weight
- plan and write some original fiction
- knit a jumper
- seriously apply for more jobs
- keep being social
- get fitter

I'm not going to do the questions as I don't think they fit this year. I wrote, and finished, nearly double what I managed last year which is a little unbelievable to me.
I can't say any one was particularly hard to write, or easy, but actual ideas were like drawing blood from a stone for a while. Once I was past that I was fine. I'm proud of all of them, especially Keep Her In Your Sights and Picking Up the Pieces. Both are a bit rushed and could use a little more editing but they show definite improvements in my writing. I'm pretty pleased with the rest as well. Most of the fics were quite well received as well.
Crossing Thresholds was my Yuletide fic, and I really enjoyed writing it, panic about time aside.
My aim for next year is to complete another long fic, but this time I would like to make the plot more sophisticated - more POV's and more than one thread of plot.
