Thanksgiving.
I am thankful I have a day off with pay.
I am thankful I was able to sleep an extra hour.
I am thankful I don't have to talk to anyone all weekend, if I don't choose to.
I am NOT thankful I have no one to cook for. It's a bummer, as I do enjoy making holiday meals.
Received the Sweet Treat Recipe cards for my N'ness swap. I have a great idea for a scrapbook-style cookbook, starting with these. I was hoping for 10 participants, but I am very happy with these five:
Angelicus sent a yummy sounding recipe for millionaires shortcake. Lovely bright colors!
.
GoDiva sent a cute paw print of her boxer, Sprocket on her Puppy Chow recipe. This sounds so easy and delicious. I have never tried it but Nicki got pretty excited about it, as she said it's one of the best treats she has ever had.
Hydro sent the cute tea tag embellished recipe for chai milkshakes. I was so inspired, I went ahead and put some chai in the freezer.
theatrelion sent a recipe with two of my all-time favorite treats: nutella and cheesecake! What's not to love? Around the border is a quote from Hedy Lamar: "Just because you don't live near a bakery, doesn't mean you have to live without cheesecake."
And my contribution was ooey gooey chewy bars. I generally only make this in the cold months, so I decorated with snowflakes and silvery ribbon. These are so wonderful with a cup of coffee (Nicki says milk is better than coffee, but I don't drink milk)
I made a little black goddess doll for a Tag! on swap-bot:
I named her Moonlight at Midnight and was quite pleased with her. I hope the recipient likes her.
And I angeled a swap for someone on swap-bot... I am amazed at the scope of the "Flakage" here. This was a private swap worth $40. Four people angeled this at $10 each. The recipient indicated she loves primitive and gingerbread men:
