Alarm Clock

I'm really beginning to consider replacing my alarm clock. It doesn't necessarily need replacing at it still serves its function but some of the buttons are close to dying, it's dirty and honestly I think it has served valiantly and it's time for it to retire. But I can't seem to part with it, I've had this very same alarm clock since middle school. It's has woken me up day in and day out for probably around 15 years. It's traveled cross country twice, roughed out the cold Buffalo winter, seen moose grazing outside our window in Wyoming and shudders in fear whenever there's a tornado warning here in Oklahoma. It's woken me up on some of the best days in my life and also some of the worst. It remembers a time when I actually ate meat! I'm not sure I have anything from 15 years ago that I still use or see on a regular basis. So it just seems so strange to replace it but I'm thinking it's time. I'll probably never throw it away until it's completely broken but perhaps retire it to another room where all it has to do is tell the time, not wake me up, not help me fall asleep by playing the radio. So I guess I shall begin the search for its replacement.
