Beautifully written. You have created a touching, yet believable situation for us to be privy to Richard's and Kahlan's thoughts. You had a perfect balance of sincerity and cautiousness between the characters and the description of the scene was very vivid. This is one of those timeless fanfics that could slide into almost any point in the story and seem to meld into the canon of the show seamlessly.
