“Are you ready to see your father? He’s been asking for you.”
She answers with a grin. The psychologist mistakes it for happiness; really, she’s terrified.
“If you want, I’ll be in the room with you.”
The patient says nothing still, only lulling her head towards the barred window. She blinks slowly, comprehending.
“Tomorrow morning then. Have a good night.”
The psychologist leaves.
The clanking of the metal door suddenly wakes her from this fairy tale dream.
“Break the glass slipper.... wake up.... wake up....”
Slowly she bites down on her tongue.
The blood pools before they can reach her.
