Okay I have to do this...cos I read maria marchitas and well I will do nothing to upset the woman cos she's ace....bear with me tho not just a meme I also have something to share down below so to speak...
What bands/albums/etc do you have on your playlist/in your music folder, etc, that would make your friends say "Hmm, I didn't know you liked that!"?
Gloria Estevan's albums...I adore the woman with every part of me, she has a voice to shatter you...Anything for you just reduces me to a puddle of tears everytime and all good music should do that
lots of hip hop and rap - cos when it goes down thats my heart....I especially adores Busta Rhymes - "would you believe the bitch tried to steal my fucking house keys??" - ha ha he is comedic genius....good times!!
I love the Monkees too....dynamite
UB40 - I like some of theirs a lot....my ma is a fan
What Do You Listen to That You Bet Your Friends Have Never Heard Of? (Have you heard of these? Leave a comment!)
Quarashi
Cassius
Lina voice of an angel woman....a bit jazzy a criminally underrated....
The Leaves got a song on a free CD and loved it found their CD for £2 was hooked they are soo coool
the D.O.C some brilliantly atmospheric and inspired hip hop there and no mistake...
the late and greatEazy muphafuckin E - Dr Dre would be nowhere without him....although praps the world would be a better place?
theres lots more but leaving aside random one hit wonders/people who deserved to be....then...
What are your music "guilty pleasures"? As in music you're embarrassed to admit that you like :)
Micheal Bolton
Hall and Oates - Kiss on my List is just the most pleasurable listening experience imaginable it does something to me that music
N-Tyce...awful 90's british girl group - anyone who has heard of them I will have to kiss...
What music do your friends like that you just can't understand what they see in them (no getting offended anyone!!) :)
Queen I cannae understand it captain....my friends are nuts fer em...
the Darkness duplicate comment from above!!
Nickleback
fiddy cent....wtf??? the worst of hip hop, the bling wearing mutha "I got shot nine count em nine times what d'ya mean thats not enough to base a career on....why not??" crowd: "cos you're crap!!"
James Blunt - I'm sorry but he whines....without the decency to get good lyrics...but to be fair I've only heard some of em off his album....
Finally, recommend 10 songs that your friends probably don't already have but should go download right now because they're just so good no one should be without them!
(Jesus just ten??) gonna keave out the smiths cos I know most of my friends have seen the light and have heard em so...anyone that hasn't heard that joke isn't funny anymore by the smiths add this to the list....

One and Only KIRSTY MACCOLL - I am about to go into raptures about the woman in a minute I am in love...
Kiss on my list HALL AND OATES
KIRSTY MACCOLL R.I.P.
Anyway Kirsty Maccoll bless your heart and rest in piece I love you...you mean the world to me...I got Electric Landlady (one of her albums from ebay) and I am in love...she has this beautiful capacity like Morrissey to sum up the most deep intense feelings in simple words...and I am in awe of how a woman can rock so much and be so unerrated....
her voice just does me in and everytime, I hear her sing she reduces me to tears...even when the songs are just whimsy/upbeat rather than sad and sorrowful because her voice has got so much spirit of endurance in it and when she's sad the melancholy of the lyrics isn't overplayed, I mean sometimes Morrissey can appear to be too self pitying (much as I worship and adore him too) and I empathise with him...cos I am like that too but the r heatbreaking quality to her voice and her words to sad songs was that she sings about disappointment with this feminine warm tone that is earthy and pleasant and soft and its like her lyrics refuse self pity just sorrow....they seem to transmit the awful sense that she genuinely would never have expected more or asked for more than the pain she is singing about....
there is this line that she sings that I think sums up her heatbreaking appeal for me..."I never minded the rain on my face, I knew the sun lived in some other place." the awful resignation in her voice crushes me to tears every time I hear her...that such a beautiful woman was so resigned is heatbreaking to me but her voice is just so comforting and soothing to me that I smile while crying cos its a pretty pleasant voice....
I want to thank her for how happy she makes me and she's not around now anyway and its awful the way life is like that....anyway I apologise for rambling... but I feel so much in love with her (not in a creepy way you understand) that I had to share it...feel free to share any similar experiences with other artists...hmmm I know Morrissey will feature heavily....I think I could go into raptures about my Morrissey love some other time...but today is Kirsty's day
thank you to the loves that read that and treid to understand....
