My laptop is going seriously wibbly again. I received another blue screen the other day and generally it is very, very slow at doing things and Firefox is prone to crashing and closing itself. When I open Firefox again and restore the tabs it will work for a little while but then crash again. So I have to open it and discard the tabs. Fuck knows why? I mean it's not as though I am on some dodgy website - usually just YouTube and Livejournal - writing my fics.
Oh and then when I close it of an evening, it comes up with a dialogue box informing me that there was a problem with Firefox and it had to shut itself down. Even though I was the one who closed it.
Now I've tried to update Firefox and it's having problems. Eeeeeeeeeep.
Anyway, went to the cinema today and saw Zack and Miri make a porno and strangely enough, considering it had the Seth Rogen mark of yuck about it for the first few minutes, in the end it was both funny and non-nauseating. I mean racially it was a bit irritating but ah well, you can't quite have everything now can you? Then I went into the town to try to buy clothes because I am going to someone's leaving do tomorrow night but it was a total failiure. I mean there are tons of clothes/fabulous outfits out there, it's christmas party season after all, but I haven't anywhere near the amount of money required to purchase them. It's so galling. I've said it before but I would dress so well if I had money. Unfortunately I don't though, so now I get to dig through my wardrobe to find something not too ill-fitting. See that's the problem with me and clothes, I can fit into clothes from not specialist larger lady shops, which saves me money and encourages me to buy them, but then because of my bust they are so basically ill fitting that once they've been washed a few times they just sit on my bust and become really, really short in the body. Gah I wish I was in proportion, either that or I wish I had money to buy pretty, better quality items that wouldn't shrink to accentuate that problem.
Gah see, even if I lost weight my bust would always be waaay larger than I am everywhere else. My body is just horrible. This is why I don't have weight/dieting issues/tendancies because I know that my body will always be horrible no matter what I do. mwah.
Still, in happier news, yesterday I found a free text audio reader and that is rocking my world muchly. It's only got one voice on there - the rather robotic Microsoft Anna, because it is a demo of a full version and she mispronounces words, but not many so it's still ace. It's just a good aid to punctuating things, because the fics without good punctuation don't make sense and I know I need to work on them.
All this was spurred on by my realisation yesterday, that you can audio test your YouTube comments before you make them. I spent aaaages typing random things into comment boxes just for the juvenile joy of hearing them said outloud by the voice, before realising that if I was finding this so entertaining I should probably find a text audio thing to download.
Hours of fun at my command then. Right?
Since doing just that, I'm beginning to think that I might never use my eyes agaaaain. LOL. I've mainly just been inputting unfinished/finished fics in there and listening to them but I may have to start on the online books at Project Gutenberg soon. Although I believe this thing has a 1000 word limit so that might involve a fair bit of cutting and pasting. Still it will probably be worth it for the passive edumacation on literature that I will receive for frees.
See Steve Wilson, you big scaremongerer!! Passive technologies are not necessarily going to reduce us all to zombified fools!!
