I love the monkey, ain't it fucked up!!

Well we went to the fest and we slept in a tent and we were very uncomfortable and repulsed by the toliets...things got very tense with my supposed best friend P (who is a Scorpio and a fucking Aries Moon) who kept telling me to calm down and then proceeded to snap at everything I said...(typical convo...) ME: "I hate camping, so uncomfortable, cant sleep etc." P: "Well why the fuck did you come?" to which I was almost speechless at the hostility and sheepishly said "..the music..." i fucking despise people who ask you about whether youre enjoying it then snap back when you are honest!!

BUT

there was highlights

Idlewild I had to talk everyone into coming to see them even though they were the first artists, first annoyance of the fest was broached by the fact that I was raring to get down to see them (I was almost running which for someone so unfit is impressive) and they lagged behind and kept fucking whinging when I was trying to drum up enthusiasm (fancy paying that much money and not being enthusiastic about going to see the bands) seems like lunacy to me!!! they were very good, top notch in fact!!! I determined I would look up their album... beautiful sunny day nothing to do but enjoy music I decided at that moment I  liked festivals, though I was fucking tired already of the people I was with!!!!

Supergrass were obviously f great...they played Bullet which would have to be the best song of theirs that I've heard!!!

Razorlight rocked too first off I hated them because Fe's 'girlfriend' loves them...but Johnny Borrell is just beautiful...he wore a white suit and the top came off and the trousers were unzipped and he was tremendously sexy and he was just a wonderful showman...apparently one of the songs was about anal sex...!!! their brilliance reigned even though my supposed friends deserted me halfway through their set to buy beer (I don't drink really so...) and then came back to whinge about how long they were on for.... these would be the same people that were then grooving along to fucking Faithless!!! - who are shit, RAAH!!! FAITHLESS ARE SHIT..... (God that feels good to get out!! I have been supressing it for so long....it would've created too much hostility and shouting down on my opinions before)

then we had Goldie Looking Chain...who I was determined not to find funny and then one of them comes out in a Matalan T-shirt and a mullett and my heart melted...my mate had them on her mini disc and after their performance I had a listen and this is where the title of my post comes from...they did a song about  a man in love with a monkey he met in Bristol zoo and childish as I am I found it hilarious...I found them exceptional!!! they are just sending up the chavs which I always welcome!!!

then we had Embrace and Danny McNamara just seemed to radiate such heart, he managed to move the crowd with little effort, it seemed and he seemed to have a genuine warmth...gorgeous...although Embrace's music can be a little boring sometimes (which upsets me cos I want to like them) Snow Patrol I had to watch from so far away (cos my friends are non music appreciating bastards) but they were so good and the lead singer rocked out as well as seeming really really nice!!

Ooooh I got some wings they are beautiful I look like an angel...but they are unwieldy and they are very impractical!!!! when am I ever gonna need wings again...me and P wore ours through Newport town centre and little kids were mesmerised...little girls in paticular loved them...Aaaah!!

unfortunately i missed out on a smiths badge, although my mate found me a Rough Trade badge and Newport HMV furnished me a Queen in Dead T-shirt so....it balanced:)

Roddy Woomble the lead singer of Idlewild...he had longer hair...he was also singing his heart out...I was too far away to hear what he was saying...[sigh]

group shot of Embrace...

Danny McNamara, such a nice man....[SIGH]

the member of Goldie looking chain with the mullett and the matalan t-shirt...i can't not love a man who makes me laff!! makes me wonder whether they are really proper chavs???!!!

what a shame there isn't a pic of Johnny Borrell that does him justice...!!
