TV Diet. Again.

TV is the bane of my existence. I'm going to have to go on a TV diet and ration it again. I have to get it under control. I'm only going to do DVD's for a while starting tomorrow morning. I'll just have to come here or grab a book when I get the compulsion to hit the power button. I'm bad as it's the first thing I do in the morning and it goes on when I get home. It gives the illusion of more company. It's terrible. I want to get it under control so that I can watch only a couple of shows as a treat. I know I won't behave as if they're a treat until I get take things in hand -- I would simply turn it on and watch it for hours. It's hard to manage time when there's always something that draws me in for another hour or half hour. I thought I had it handled for a while but, yeah, not so much.

I have a couple of book suggestions. I have three going at once right now and they're all fairly good:

"Noone Belongs Here More than You" by Miranda July: Such sad and strange pieces. I love it.

"The Broke Diaries" by Angela Nissel: So goofy and funny. Some of it is too familiar; some of it is like watching a movie -- "Don't buy that dress, girl! You've got rent to pay!"

"Under a Glass Bell" by Anais Nin: this one I read here and there. Lots of evocative exercises, though.
