Over vacation I went on a seven-day cruise with my parents and Nate. It was fun for the most part.
Highlights include a half hour snuba dive and a 255 foot high ropes course in the middle of the Belizan jungle. The former was more groudbreaking for me. "Snuba" is a combination of scuba and snorkling, where your oxygen comes from a regulator connected to a tube on the surface and you can go down in the water up to 25 feet. It was pretty surreal. You're basically convincing your body to do what your mind thinks is suicide - that is, desreguarding everything you've ever learned about breathing underwater. [Don't judge it until you go for your first time, I was plenty calm till I got in the water ;).] Anyway, my dad and I swam around this shipwreck on the Cayman Island coast with the fiddies. It was pretty sweet.
Lowlights of the trip include Nate's new petname for my mum ["Fucking fag," I think it was...] and accidently deleting all the pictures from the camara on the last day [How was I supposed to know what "Format All Images" was?!]. Pictures were retained with a $15 card-reader once we got home, but it still made me sad.
Yesterday I went to the Winter Awards Banquet for school and got a huge trophy for winning the Coaches' Award for Swim. I shouldn't have got it, they should have given it to a senior, not a slacker-freshman. Erin deserved it so much more than me - she was injured before the season even started, yet came to every practice of the season (even the 4:45 am ones) and modivated us for the meets. Lol, and this definitly isn't modesty: Cue parents' reactions.
Dad: *awkward cough* Well, this certainly is...surprising...
Mom: Maybe Erin had a fight with Chris [coach] right before the awards?
Anyway, I'm apparently in the play Making Nice? Even though I've gone to two out of fifty or so rehersals? And they're we're performing Friday for everyone who has Engligh second or forth block? Which includes Nate? Ick.
But This Book Will Change Your Life came in the mail, finally, and GoF is out on DVD. So my life's yayness, thanks for asking.
