You snooze, you lose.
I've apparently been away from LJ for so long, I can't even figure it out anymore. My format is no longer supported and it wants me to upgrade to "S2" - whatever that is - but then won't let me. And my feed only goes back like a month, so I can't stroll endlessly backwards to find out what I've missed over the last year. WTF? Yet another attempt by technology to leave me in the dust! Curse you, you whippersnapper programmers who constantly have to change things!
Oh well. Nothing lasts forever. I think the cancellation of the incomparable Remington Steele proved that to me years ago. ;D
On a fandom note, have gone back to ogle pics of Captain Jack Harkness. So deliciously hot and deliciously slutty - and yet, I have found little fic out there for him that I like. I've gotten so picky in my old age! But still, I was reminded of my absolute favorite new Dr. Who line: "Well, I've got a banana and in a pinch you could put up some shelves." So missed the lighthearted, snarky Jack once he was moved over to Torchwood - such a downer of a show for such an hopeful character. Makes me want to consign that Jack to some Star Trekkian alternate universe, and rewrite the whole thing from the point of his resurrection onwards. The angstiness of tv these days is bordering on unbearable (cf. abovementioned Remington Steele).
Also floating my boat these days? Roy Mustang. Because no anime has been able to capture my admiration since FMA Brotherhood, so I had to go watch it again. And fall for old Flamey all over again. And also Olivia Armstrong. Possibly my favorite female anime character ever. Had totally forgotten how she just skewers the visiting evil general and dumps him in the giant pit of wet concrete. Take THAT, Sailor Fucking Moon! :P
