Yuletide Letter!!!
Here we are again, my fine feathered feather-quilled friend. Another Yuletide, another three fandoms that will lose out. Alas, poor fandoms. But one, ONE lucky fandom snagged YOU, dear Yulegoat. My obscure tastebuds bow down to you and your generosity. Thank you, O Magical One!
A quick rundown of my ficcy likes:

I like to think I'm pretty easygoing. *shifty-eyed look for objections from the crowd* I'm cool with slash, gen, het (if it's not too schmoopy), kink, steampunk, crossovers, fluff, slice of life, back story, comedy, winged werewolf porn, whatever.
So, this year's four nominees are...
1) Big Valley (Character(s) requested: Jarrod Barkley)
I love me my college boys, so Jarrod is my favorite character on this show - head of the family, wheeler dealer businessman, and champion for justice - he's got a lot on his plate. A story about any aspect of his life would be awesome - a case, a vacation, a childhood tale of mischief or woe, a glimpse of his civil war years or his college days. Any family member, guest character, or original character is welcome.
I've nominated this before, and I fear it is destined to be a perennial loser - the Susan Lucci of my yuletide requests. But just in case you feel drawn to the old west, I would be super happy to see anything in this fandom. As I said in my request text, I am rather fond of Jarrod. I love his relationship with his mother - loving, protective, respectful, an interesting balance of power. I also love big brother stories, so a one-on-one with Nick (as kids or adults), with Heath, or with Audra (who could really use some deepening as a character) would be great too. If you hate Jarrod, um, well, maybe you could do a Mirror, Mirror-like AU with Evil Jarrod complete with mustache and goatee? @_@
2) The Foundling (Character(s) requested: Gideon Ware)
I love this book, so anything you want to write is all right by me, but I requested Gideon because he is so unusual - all the characteristics of a romance hero and yet he is totally secondary for this book. But his slashy-esque relationship with Gilly is delicious and his dysfunctional relationship with his father is fascinating. So if you feel like delving into either of those areas, I won't stop you! If you want to bring in any characters from other Heyer novels, that would be fun too.
Right, so this is a book of rollicking, madcap adventure. More of that is always welcome, but I know it is hard to write wacky hijinks on demand, so don't feel pressured to go that route! I do love Gideon, but am also very fond of Gilly and Harriet. A story about how the three settle into a relationship (whatever type of relationship you choose to make it) would be fun. Or Harriet's view of Gilly & Gideon, or even Gideon & his father would also be interesting. Even Gideon getting stuck spending the day with Tom has amusing potential. Just enjoy yourself!
3) Jonny Quest (Character(s) requested: Race Bannon, Benton Quest)
Ok, so I love the Race/Benton slash dynamic from the original series (and Race is a total hottie in that one). But if you don't want to write anything along those lines, it would be really interesting to see how the two of them deal with the boring, mundane aspects of parenting that you never get to see in the show. Or just another goofball adventure. Or Race's job interview. Or anything you like, really, just have fun!
Another re-nominee, the classic Cold War masterpiece Jonny Quest has been spoofed and lampooned three ways from Sunday, but it is hard to resist the triumph of science attitude, the questionable parenting skills, and the Bond-style villains. (Feel free to leave out the overt racism for pretty much any culture not American!) Some hot Race h/c would totally float my boat, especially with a side-helping of Dr. Q slash. But there are many gen options as well, as I suggested in my request. Race teaming up with James Bond to save the world (and the boys) has epic potential. :)
4) Nightrunner Series? (Character(s) requested: Seregil i Korit)
I confess that I am behind in my reading on this one, so if you take up this request, please don't reveal anything past the 4th book (Shadows Return). I love Seregil in all his various guises, so anything you want to write that involves him in any way would be awesome. A bawdy getaway with Alec, an adventure in the streets of Rhiminee, mesmerising a young Beka Cavish with tales, tricks, or songs, another failed magic attempt with Nysander. I'm easy with this fandom - fun, angsty, sexy, cute - go for it!
The final nomineee...the elusive Nightrunner series. (I know the author does not condone fanficcing her characters, but I promise not to tell...) You may have noticed by now that I tend to have one favorite character and everything else is just dressing. *checks psychology textbook for possible dangerous complexes* Yep, Seregil is my favorite, and given his rather advanced age, there are many places to pop in a quick story here and there. I'd pretty much be happy with him grooming his horse for 1500 words, so I will be easy to please here. I've always been intrigued with his failed attempts at magic - did he ever hurt himself? set a building on fire? telelport a venerable wizard across town to a brothel? - so any misadventure along those lines would be fun. (Or perhaps him telling Alec about one on a long winter's night.) If you prefer the ladies, that's cool too - Beka and Klia are both awesome characters, with or without Seregil around. (But would prefer no femslash.) Also, please no spoilers for the White Road and beyond!
