Matrix revisited

I know the Matrix kind of covered this idea (sort of) but I have been doing some serious thinking about probabilities and the nature of life. Seriously, if you believe in the Big Bang theory and evolution, what stops us from concluding that everything we do has literally been done before? Are we so egocentric that we actually believe that time for all reality started with our Big Bang? Do we believe that our Bang was the first one to ever happen? Ridiculous. If its happened once, it is probable (without the factor of time as it did not exist pre- our big bang) that it has already happened an infinite number of times. And of those infinite universes, it is probable that there are a number of parallel universes where everything we are doing now has already been done. Our whole lives are reduced to proabilistic outcomes...

No wonder I hate statisticians.

But it does seem a bit egocentric to assume that we are the only universe. Kind of like thinking four hundred years ago that we were the center of the Universe.
