“Why don’t you help me?” Shannon asks him, knowing he will. He never tells her no. She’s not sure he can.
He looks away for a moment then shakes his head. She has to stop herself from raising an eyebrow. It doesn’t seem he’s given it any thought.
She notices again. He’s changing. He’s been different since he started hiking off into the forest with Locke everyday. She hadn’t thought it would last, and she’d never thought to worry about it. Until now.
“No, thanks,” he answers and leaves. Shannon turns and watches him, incredulously. He never tells her no.
