The paradox of presence

Nov 17, 2008 02:45

God's presence, and our entry into it, seem the ultimate paradox, and at the same time the ultimate in simplicity, to me (which of course adds weight to the paradox side). On the one hand, His justice dictates that any sin...ANY sin...bars us from approaching Him. And He is unchanging, so His justice is unchanging, so any sin present in us prevents us from drawing near.

On the other hand, His love provided a way to fulfill the demands of that justice. And so, through His love, NOTHING prevents us from drawing near.

So, by His love, we cannot be kept from His presence except by our own choices.
Therefore, any time that you feel you cannot draw near to Him, it is a lie.

Can I state something so powerful...so simply?
