Now that things have settled down some. . I thought it might be nice to try and do something fun . .

This puzzle isnt so hard but you have to think:

What happens once in every minute , twice in every moment, but never in a thousand years ?

Good luck ! If you want another puzzle or one thats harder I can give you one !

That one's pretty simple, isn't it? It's just a puzzle about letters. The answer is the letter 'm', right?

Yes !

Sometimes people don' t get the answers straightaway , so I think it's nicer to put an easy puzzle first !

You're right in a way. If the first puzzle is already pretty difficult, people will just give up. It's easier to just gradually build up the difficulty.

That 's how the Professor taught me . . so it seems like the best way to give other people puzzles , too! I wouldn' t want someone to not like puzzles because I gave them one that was too hard first.

The Professor? Some acquaintance of yours?

And yeah, I'm sure anyone would dislike puzzles if they were only presented with difficult ones. As long as a puzzle isn't solvable for your level, it's just incomprehensible and there's no way that would be fun for anyone.

The Professor is my mentor ! I' m his number one apprentice!

That's why I started with this one . It's simple enough, especially when it' s typed out and you can see the letters .

And he's teaching you puzzles? I don't think I've heard of a setup like that before..

It's much easier when it's written out, yeah. If you speak, at least then they will only hear the sounds and not guess it as easily. I guess that counts for some other riddles too.

[You can't tell that Luke's bristled at this comment via his typing, but he definitely has. He's glaring death at the communicator.]

Not only puzzles . Professor Layton is an archaeologist, I help him take notes and keep organized and examine artifacts --mostly only in his office now .

We do puzzles too , but that's because they are fun.

[ Yes, Ange doesn't notice it. It's probably why she just continues on in her own deadpan way. ]

I see. So he's a pretty smart guy in that case then, right? Back home I knew a lot of people who liked puzzles and the like as well.

Sometimes. I never really used to, but recently it became a pretty big thing in my life out of nowhere, if that makes sense.

[ ... ]

I guess it's good that you have something to enjoy in this place. Especially if it makes you think of home.

and since school here isn't like it is at home, puzzles help me at least keep doing something like my studies, even if it isn't the same .
