I am so tired! But it was worth it! Last night was so amazing!

First let me say.. that i wish a bunch of you could heve been there. My musically inclined friends.. Kate, Katy, Tiff, Emily...my closest friend..Britt.. my work people.. Deb, Kirk, Rob.. and of course.. Marygrace.

So me and Danny got there at about.. 7:30ish. Stood around a bit chatting and such.. he knows a few people that work there. Then at around 8 the openers came out.

Ben Hernandez and Nathan James. Very cool. They only played for like 30 min or so. rather short.. but still awesome. They played the jug, spoons, harmonica, tub bass. So many interesting things.I got to talking with them a little bit after the show. Nice guys, I ended up buying both the cd's that they were selling. Havent listend to them yet, pretty much because when i got home i was dead tired.

Then there was a short break and the real show began. The Blind Boys of Alabama!! Now i have never seen them live before, though danny had a few times. and all i can say is OMG!! All the primary guys have got to be in thier like 70's and of course.. blind.. thus the name of the band if you hadnt figured that out. there were the 4 of them, 3 singers and 1 on drums. They also had 3 other ounger guys that were on guitar. I honestly cant remember how long they played for.. but damn if it wasnt one amazing show! They had such energy the whole time it was awesome. Jumpin up and down.. holdin notes for crazy amounts of time. Just jammin! Thsi was part of thier xmas tour.. so they broke out a few very awesome xmas songs.. probably the only time ive heard xmas music this year and didnt want to go running! (that happens when youve been forced to hear it in every store in existance since the day after thanksgiving). But back on point. During there last song.. and this was awesome.. One of the guys actually came down and walked around the crowd!!! One of thier security guys came out.. and him and one of the guitarists helped him down off the stage and led him around the venue. It was crazy.. such a long set and this guy still had tons of energy. It was insane! So then they left the stage.. but of course came out for an encore.. more awesomeness.
