I finally got my DVD of the Les Misérables 25th Anniversary Concert today. \o/ *squee*
I haven't entirely finished watching it yet, but here are some thoughts so far:
- Alfie Boe (Valjean) is very good. *thumbs up*
- So great to see Norm Lewis again! ♥ And Lea Salonga. :-)
- I was already quite obsessed with Ramin Karimloo these last few days, but definitely am even more so now after watching him in this as Enjolras. GNNH! ♥♥
- Nick Jonas, who plays Marius, doesn't do anything for me, neither his voice and especially not his looks. :p He probably was only cast because of his name and/or to attract some fan kiddies, IDK. Ok, he doesn't actually sing badly. But still... I usually really like Marius' appearances, but Nick somehow spoils it for me and I'm quite indifferent when he's on... Couldn't they have found someone else? *sighs*
- Matt Lucas is not a bad singer. :D (Has he done something like this before?)
- Makes me happy to see some people performing in this concert who I have just seen this summer live on stage in London, like Killian Donnelly and Alistair Brammer. *yay* :-)
Can't wait to get to the encores! Valjean Quartet (with Colm Wilkinson <3, John Owen-Jones <3<3, Simon Bowman <3<3 and Alfie Boe) FTW!! ♥♥♥ And also the original 1985 cast (Michael Ball! Roger Allam!). :-)
