After having read the first two Twilight books, I have urges for... er... well-written literature with lead-characters that doesn't make you want to kill them. ^^;;
So yesterday, me and
therese_chan were discussing books in general and then starting to talk about our favorite books... and I started rambling about my favorite books of all time. Robin Hobb's [The Farseer] and [The Tawny Man] thrilogies. And I just started remembering them. Remembering Fitz and The Fool. Those are my two favorite book-characters of all time - The Fool in particular. He holds such a dear place in my heart that I can never express it. If you like fantasy books... or just books, at all, you have to read them. The characters are so extremely well written, the plot(s) are perfect and the releationship between Fitz and Fool are out of this world. I can't stop praising these books. (The only bad thiing about them is that the author has completely forbidden fanfics written about her characters and her worlds. It's terribly, because if there was ever any books that were worthy of fanfiction - especially of the slashy variety - it is these books. )
Ah, anyway - why I am now totally spazzing over these books are because I got these urges to reread them because once again, they are perfect. And I was gooing to google for them, in case there was some kind of English bookstore over here selling them, even though I already have them back home... and now I just stumbled across them as audiobooks. So now I can just put them in my ipod to listen to them on the train, instead. It's much preffered on the japanese subway, I have to tell you, since it really is as crowded in the mornings as you have seen on TV. If you're standing, it's pretty much impossible to actually even bring a book and be able to turn the pages to read them. X_X So, yey for audio-books!!
And, speaking of good fantasy books - I also love Lynn Flewelling's [Nightrunner] series. I read the three books several years ago and loved them - I liked her characters a lot and was impressed that the author was brave enough to actually let the male lead-characters be openly gay in these books. And so while I was talking about them yesterday, I was googling them, and then suddenly I see... there is a 4th book in the series now, released only this summer!! \^___^/ I'm shameless and will ask my mom to go to the bookstore back home and order it and send it to me, lol! Because I HAVE to know what happend next to Alec and Seregil. ♥
Oh, and tomorrow I will see the Kinki kids concert at Tokyo Dome!! I am excited! I will go with a classmate and I'm sure it'll be so much fun! ^^~♥ I don't look forward to the goods-que, though... X_X
