I've already mentioned this on both facebook and twitter so sorry to everyone who has to read this several times but I just need to get it out. AGAIN.
I started reading Fifty Shades of Grey, and it is, by far, the worst crap I've ever read. And I like reading porn, what the fuck!?!? The writing is worse than Twilight, and Twilight used the be the worst thing I'd ever read. The worst thing I thought to ever be written. Maybe they're equally bad but with 50 shades... being read right now, I truly feel like this is the worst ever.
The writing is complete and utter shit - it's extremely repetitive and I just can't with how this "author" use the first person narrative. And usually I really love books like that.
I hate it how the lead character Ana is a naive, clumsy, completely asexual innocent little girl (are we supposed to find it endearing that she says "oh my!" innocently in every other sentence, or what? Or that she trips and falls on her face the first time she sees her ~prince charming~? And that she finds herself so unworthy of, well, everything, and especially him. I HATE female characters like that. hate, hate, hate.)
And then she meets the title character - Mr Christian Grey. Multi billionaire, super hunk extraordinaire. And it just gets so CORNY, and RIDICULOUS, and I suppose he's supposed to be mysterious and deep, but I just find him mean and disgusting and ridiculous.
They meet and the innocent Ana flips around 180. How she can become a complete whizz at deep throating after a night when she had never even touched herself before is so... X____X. And the sex scenes are total crap. "Feel it, baby!" and there are gasps, gasps, gasps everywhere and what the heeel it's so baad. X_X Can anyone seriously read this and honestly find it erotic at ALL? O___O
HOW did this book turn into a bestseller? I NEVER leave a book unfinished, but I don't think I can read any more than these first 14 chapters, for real face. X___X
I needed to let it out once more, I think I'm done now. XDDD
Heading to bed now, to read Lynn Flewellings most recent Nightrunner book instead. :333
