(no subject)
So, the last two exams were done these past two days! They were practical exams; yesterday I was out "on the floor", in the restaurant for my waiting-exam and I was extremely nervous beforehand! We all got our own assignments, with specific guests, and we were working with a partner in the kitchen so we were supposed to plan everything from the napkins to candles to forks/spoons/knives, make menu's... and then, of course, we were also supposed to wait on the guests, all while the teacher were staring at Everything we did! :O It was very nerve-wrecking. ^__^
Though, I think I did okay. Hopefully. At least I got a plus for my table set-up, as I'd planned it color-wise with candles, napkins, menu's and flowers. Haha, I'm just glad I didn't drop a tray on anyone! ^_^
And, today it was time for the kitchen-exam. Here, too, we had to do everything by ourselves; all of us had made our own menu's, our own recipes with some beforehand decided ingredients, shopping-list etc. I was worried for a while there, that I'd made a too complicated menu and that I wouldn't have enough time to finish it all before the guests arrived. But I did, luckily, thanks to muchos stressing.
Everything, the first course, the main course and the dessert, all went out quickly and smoothly! I had a fantastic partner and we worked good together, she telling me when the guests arrived, when they seemed to finish one dish to give me some time to prepare the next one. Somewhere along the road, though, I got slightly panicked and was almost hysterically stressed; my hands were shaking and I got nervous about how the teachers would grade it all and wondering if anyone would like it and so on and so forth.
Afterward, after we'd finished up everything in the kitchen, we were called in one by one to get our judgment. :D It was all good though, so I think I did okay, yay! :3
Just needed to let that out, because I've been a wreck the past week because of these tests, knowing how important they are for our grades... and now that they're finished I am... Wow. I feel so relaxed and happy and wheee!
