I am restarting this Lj. it will be new and beautiful and full of metaphors involving blowing bubbles.
Hello
I am now 16, have got some qualifications and am starting an brand new, slightly ominous sixth Form, because I now live in Stroud. In case anyone from Burford reads this, don't worry I'm not buggering off, but you won't have to face me every fucking day! lol.
OK, GCSE's they're big scary and unnecessary if you want to keep learning, except that they allow you to do so. Of course if you aren't going to continue, they matter loads, (see I'm being more accommodating already), but I plan to. My new sixth Form, which is called Downfield, is the combined sixth form for the two Stroud single sex secondary grammar schools, Stroud high School, for the girls, and Marling School, for the boys. To get in I needed 5A* to C grades overall, and at least a B in any subject I plan to take. My subjects are at the moment as follows Maths, and Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics and History, though there are many others that I would quite like to do. 3 years of Sixth form? So here are the GCSE's
Maths - A*
Core Science - A*
Additional Science - A*
History - A*
English Language - A*
English Literature - A, which is a slight disappointment but no problem.
IT - A
Music - A
Resistant Materials (D.T. :) ) - A
R.E. - A, appalling I should be able to get an A*, my mum's a vicar, I know it all
In fact, if I wasn't so God damn lazy I could have got an A* in all of those, that was what I was predicted
P.E. - B, which is fine, considering that I am generally crap at sport, and practical makes up well over 1/2 the marks
German - C Is OK, sadly I'm not great at language, and though I was better at French in year 9, when it came to options choices, I chose German, because of completely unfair, unfounded and Shit feelings about the nation, taken from some Historical belief that we are better, and that the last century was a foolish blip on our wars against the French and our alliances with the Germans. I don't know what it is - I don't read the daily mail or anything, and am normally quite liberal, but there is this one speck on my resume. Still I got a Language GCSE and that was what I wanted. Once I can learn them just for fun, I will. I hate the image of the British tourist on the Costa del sol, speaking loudly and slowly and making rude hand gestures. We NEED to communicate in this international era.
So there it is, I got an A* in every subject I plan to take, and my worst grade was a C. All is well there.
