詠春拳，太極拳，和氣功
詠春拳不是太極拳。
詠春 deals more with hand movements, and is very much more of an art of the hands than of the stance, which is more the realm of 太極. However, both are adept at hands and stance, but the methods are very different.
There is 氣功 in both arts. However, there is much more 氣功 in 太極 than 詠春. In fact, the methods of 氣功 in 太極 are much, much more extensive than in 詠春. However, the methods in 詠春 are much much subtler, and thus both cultivation and combat efficiency are trained rather quickly. But the 太極 adept will be much more versed in 氣功 and any arts accompanying it than the 詠春 adept.
However, these I discovered...
一) 詠春 is sophisticated, and 太極 is intricate.
二）詠春 can defeat 太極 just as easily as the converse. Caution is therefore to be practised when meeting one of either arts, or when the two meet.
三） Given equal skill levels, the 詠春 adept will easily defeat the 太極 adept.
四) However, a 太極 adept with greater skill can easily defeat the 詠春 adept.
Thus, this martial journey gets only more interesting.
