As you may or may not know, I am indeed at home for Christmas vacation. I can finally watch decent anime. Shall I, as they say, break it down?
Here's the list:
Hellsing OVA episode II
-For those of you not familiar with the Hellsing universe, it's centered around an organization of vampire hunters, the most prominent of these is a vampire named Alucard. He also has a little piddly assistant vampire (Seras/Ceras, whatevs!) who he goes around doing wonderful stuff with. Most of this involves other dead vampires, but sometimes the Catholic version of the Protestant Hellsing group. They have conflicts, stuff gets dead. Sometimes there are Nazis too, depending on what you're reading/watching. Right, so, before the OVAs, there were just the anime and the manga. The two start off the same, but the anime, in the interest of being shorter, has a very different story than the anime and involves no Nazis. So, this OVA is essentially another version of the anime, only now it follows the manga, which is good.
Samurai Deeper Kyo
-I don't really know that much about this series other than that there are samurai. I'm really only watching it because it was reccomended to me quite a while ago by a friend. My brother thinks it's awful, but he didn't like Samurai 7 either, so who can say? Side note: It's twenty-six episodes long, too. This is the size of a proper anime.
Death Note
-Kay, so, angel of death gives this kid a notebook that kills anyone whose name you write in it. The police think that there are some serious serial killer shenanigans going on so they get this amazingly bright but quirky kid to crackt he case, because they've got nothing. The anime, manga, and movies(presumably, I have not seen it) are all about the psychological processes of all these characters. It's a really deep and intelligent story. Right, so, about a year or so ago, one of my friends reccomended this manga to me, which I read for a while. I thought the series was over, but apparently it was not. Regardless, the anime has begun to come out and so I'm going to start watching it because it too was reccomended by a friend.
The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi
-If you've been anywhere near the internet anime community in the past year, you've probably heard of this. I don't really get it that much because there isn't that much of a plot that I can tell. I've watched the first six episodes and I'm trying to decide if I should keep going or not. It's pretty entertaining so that looks likely.
Right! So those are my plans for the future! Anime.
Aren't I interesting?
I would tell you about all the stuff I do when I go out and stuff, but it's really neither funny nor interesting, so I won't.
However, you can rest assured that if something funny or interesting happens when I go out, you will be the first to hear of it.
