Fate was not favoring her, Sophia once again experienced, when the first sound reaching her through the thick blankets meant to protect her was the tune of ‘Man’s world’.
She had forgotten about it, ever since the summer Martin had announced that this time, he would not be coming back. Despite him keeping his promise, Sophia figured that the song had not lost a single bit of its appeal, still sounded painfully right in her ears; still sounded like all of these memories attaching her heartstrings to the man that had once loved her, that she still loved.
Switching the radio off, tears were already stinging in the back of her eyes.
She hadn’t even made it to the mirror, yet.
