Get by with a little help from my friends (list)!

Heya all.

Long time no post. I have been working a lot. I got to go out and bike though :) let me tell ya, I am TOTALLY out of shape! I only biked 8 miles and nearly died!!! Better get ready for those 10 mile bike rides this summer. I hope to build up and maybe do a couple 50 mile bike rides!!

However, importantly:

There is an HIV/AIDS walk here in Ellsworth. I am trying to drum up some support and raise $1,000. We are doing great so far and this year has been a huge success! We have raised more money this year than we have the last 3 years!!

All the fund raising I have done has been through friends lists on Myspace, Yahoo IM and now here! And I have raised (as of this point) $200!!

If you would like to donate just click this link:

More information:
I work at Down East AIDS Network (DEAN), a community based non-profit that helps prevent the spread of HIV and supports those who are positive to live a long and healthy life.

I have been working at DEAN for 3 years now and love the work. I go to schools and speak to kids on how they can prevent the spread of this virus, I go to clinics and hospitals to try and talk to staff about how to treat people who are HIV+ and about our services, we offer FREE HIV TESTING to anyone who walks through our doors, we give out FREE CONDOMS and of course FREE INFORMATION about the virus.

Our goal is to make things free and easy to acquire so that the least number of people are excluded from our services. We want everyone to know what HIV is, how it is spread and how they can prevent it from infecting them.

There is no reason HIV should exist in a few generations. Now that we know how to stop the spread, now that testing is everywhere...this disease can be stopped.

All the money raised is doubled! So if you donate $5! It is really $10!!! So don't worry about making a small donation, everything counts!

All donations go to prevention efforts and helping HIV + clients!
