ITEMS SHOP

Did your weapon break? What about your helmet, or that prized shield you've had for the past decade? Worry not, the shop is a convenient source of new weapons and equipment, and even offers a moderate means of repairing broken items. There is one shop per faction, located along the perimeter of the faction bases. The shop is modest in size and décor, but provides well enough for its warriors.

(The shop cannot be vandalized in any manner. Nothing characters do will even leave a dent on its exterior.)

What do the shops offer, exactly?
Weapons and other equipment, such as helmets, arm guards/gauntlets, leggings, shields and magical items. Though the shop offers a decent variety of equipment, the quality is mediocre at best. Not nearly as sturdy or special as custom weapons unique to a character, they're more prone to breaking and such.

The list of currently available items are as follows -- more will be added as the game progresses.
  • Knives
  • Swords
  • Axes
  • Lances/spears
  • Shields
  • Helmets
  • Body armor
  • Arm guards/gauntlets
  • Leggings
  • Staff/rod
  • Magic tomes (beginner and intermediate levels)
  • Guns
  • Rifles
Remember, convenient as these shop provided weapons are, they are inferior in quality to those of the characters' actual, unique weapons and items.

The shop also offers a repairing station, which is free of charge and located in the side of the shop. With repairing tools and whatnot, characters are welcome to work on returning their equipment to its former, newer state with the aid of a moogle (if they so choose; moogles are experts, and it may be unwise to turn one away). Such equipment include but are not limited to melee and ranged weapons, androids and robots, and magical items such as tomes.

However, even with a moogle's hand, it will become increasingly difficult to repair items that are considered more special and more unique in the owner's canon world.

Is it all free?
Nay, it is all not. Each item has a price attached, and the moogles that tend to the shops process all transactions. Repairing is free; however, purchasing items obviously requires money. Moogles accept currency in the form of gil and no other, if only because they wouldn't know what to do with them.

But fear not if your character doesn't hail from a world where gil exists! Similar to the good old RPG battle system, any and all mannequins fought and defeated will sometimes drop just that -- gils. Of course, how much drops per kill isn't too impressive, but with enough fights characters will be able to accumulate a fair amount.

* All purchases will be handwaved, hence the lack of a price list. Please exercise proper judgment and logic when deciding to get your character an item or two. For instance, it'd take a while for characters to garner enough money in the first place. They shouldn't be able to purchase numerous items at once when they've just arrived or barely fought.

As a quick reference, items are listed in order from cheapest to most expensive: Weapons → Magical items → Modern weapons (ie. guns) → Equipment/Armor

Question!
Understandably, the shop is bound to draw some questions due to its simplicity and generalized system. If you've any question, please feel free to drop them here and we will answer them as soon as possible.
