Christmas alone
my christmas alone so far isnt gooin so bad. a lil rough but not unreasonably so. depressing yes but not overbearingly so.
i ended up taking karyne to the airport her and matt were (proll mostly karyne) weary of leaving her car at the airport for 2wks so i dropped her off on the 16th. since then i've been offically home alone (other then the cat and this time she definitely wants to say something just hasnt yet but any day now).
karyne/red has called me 3 times since she got to NS. i think she's having a rougher time. she now considers home, our place in edmonton. i think the 4 of us are. i kinda think of 2 homes. Cape Breton being one (anywheres CB, not specifically my parents place or the hometown, just the isle in general) and my present abode in Edmonton being the other. i also think of the 3 of them as family, even tho they aren't my textbook family. i guess it might be true you can't go home again.
before i took red to the airport we did talk a lil about waht i was planning for my time alone thru the holidays and i at that time hadn't yet decided what i was doin for a xmas meal. red was afan of gettin a small turkey for myself so i thouhgt maybe a cornish hen. i also toyed with the idea of goin out to eat. but then i went for groceries on sat and well did find a meal.
my christmas feast (still not sure if i will have it on the eve or day) will be rack of lamb (already frenched and spiced with rosemary), baby potatoes (which i will roast with garlic) and maple glazed carrots!!!! prolly just candy and chocloate for dessert! lol. yay me!!!!!
i also got the fixins to make meatballs for when matt and karyne come home on the 28th and 29th. karyne loves meatballs and matt enjoys them too. so i figure i will make them meatballs and potatoe salad for their homecoming!
oooohhhh and i have a bottle of white wine by Fat Bastard! i had to buy it the company name was too much for me to pass up and the funny story on the label on how the company came to be was quite funny. i will let you know how it is. i also got a small bottle of chanti to finnally try! and there's beer! lots of beer. i also have vodka but havent been feelin the vodka in a long time. so i have options at least so whereever my mood takes me i can go!
Chaos really looks like she wants to talke to me. i keep tryin to get her to say beer but maybe thats not what she's wanting to say.....hrmmmmmm....i will keep tryin to get her to open up.
the christmas cards i have receieved are goin in the xmas tree! i have receieved more gifts!!! yay!!!! thanks to all. i will take a pic and post it.

ps-i am leaving a beer out for santa but he could take it with him instead of drinking it then tryin to drive the sleigh but personally i think rudolph does most of the drving anyways so he could prolly drink it and ride in the sleigh.
