First, I must tell you about an ...interesting sensation I had at lunch today. I didn't get food going down the wrong pipe, exactly. Instead, I managed to snort mac&cheese up into my sinuses through my mouth. I'm still not really sure how I did that. Let me tell ya, it was kinda gross, trying to snort that stuff back into my mouth without it going down my windpipe. I hope to not repeat the experience. :)
And now for linky pie...
Katy - you were complaining the other day that you've started to forget the camp songs from
Camp Congaree (this link has the added benefit of having a picture of my sister
katydiddle on it - but I'm not telling which one she is! If she wants y'all to know, I'm sure she'll let you know in the comments!). Well,
I've got a new one for you!!! There's more funny filking (NOT appropriate for singing at a Girl Scout camp!!) songs at the main page,
The FUMP. Also, for more traditional camp songs,
here's a list.
A word game!
chef_troy would like suggestions for his game of One Different Letter. (Rules are
here. Latest round is
here.) I'm enjoying the new words and definitions he comes up with! Don't you want to participate, too?
You Know You Want It - a fan picture based on the
Labyrinth. This picture led me on a merry round of fan fiction based on that movie. I really didn't know how much fanfiction there is! And a surprising amount of what I read is good. Most of it has to do with different variations of Sarah meeting Jareth when she's older. *wink* *wink* Fictions like
this one. And
this one. And
this one - which actually starts
here (make sure to read the artist's comments - there're more links!
Japanese packaging has almost become a form of pop art. Now, they've taken it one step further and incorporated the bar code as part of the art.
Some of these are really neat looking.
I'll Eat Your Soul. Do you really like bugs? Crickets, specifically? If not, I would certainly NOT click that link! The photographer of this one, though, is incredible. If you like seriously good macro shots of various insects and other creepy crawlies, then I'd definitely take a look through his gallery!

These next three links are all related and involve a *lot* of reading. But it's all stuff that probably needs to be talked about more, especially between the sexes. More understanding is very rarely a bad thing.

Here's a post on LiveJournal about
women's rights with respect to their body. And what you can do to enforce those boundaries. I have much respect for the woman who posted this - hers is a blog I read regularly.
Here's another post by another lady for whom my respect knows no bounds. (Also, she's an amazing artist!) This post is also about respect and body rights and image and thought. I'd suggest you also read at least some of the comments (and there are a lot of them!). Actually, I wold recommend reading the comments for all three of these posts.
This is the
original post that has the internets in such a panty-twist. It's about something called the Open Source Boob Project that a group of people came up with at one of the recent scifi conventions. I think that the spirit of the thing, with a group of people that know and trust each other, is not a bad thing. Of course, it would only work if we all lived in a Heinlein novel. In practice, especially out in society with large groups of people, this project is - at the very least - a lawsuit waiting to happen. At worst, it opens people up to all sort of mental badness: uncomfortableness, fear, anxiety, disgust, creepiness, rejection, and anger - along with the very real potential for bodily harm.
