Six down...

I've registered for two classes. The rest require I take entrance exams. Ludicrous. I have a 1420 SAT, a 34(?) ACT and a 5 on every AP test I've ever taken, and I have to take a test to prove I can read.

Did you talk to someone about that or are you just going to take the test regardless? I wouldn't, but I guess that's just me. Hopefully you can spin some of your AP credit into course credit.

On a totally other note, MBD is playing and 18+ show The Bottleneck. My heart skips a beat at the thought of seeing them there.

Haven't been able to get in proper touch with an advisor. I'm trying again tomorrow, because I have to go somewhere around there for testing anyway. I guess it's possible to substitute SAT scores, but I'd have to request those, and the deadline for admissions is Wednesday. Or at least, classes start on Thursday, and then I think I need permission from the instructor.

Fair enough. I still think you should look into AP scores for credit (it's everything in me to keep from linking the page on how to have your scores sent). But just in case you have any troubles with that reading test, you might want to check out Reading Comprehension in 20 Minutes A Day. I had a girl here in the library asking for it today. Apparently its a hit with you young kids these days.

So I'm curious what classes you are taking. Oh, and if you run into the librarian who stole my first-choice job, punch him/her in the throat for me.

Cute. I'll have you know that I scored in the ninety-ninth percentile in all three tests (except for trigonometry in the math part. Turns out I don't remember what a fucking sine is). Not that the tests were terribly hard, but it's good to know I've still got it. Also, per my advisor, it is impossible to get out of taking the comp classes, since they make up the core of the communications portion of the degree. Ironically, if I hadn't tested out of it at KU, I'd be in better shape now, because I'd have the credits from there (assuming I can still transfer my credits from KU). But since I did, I get to take a big step back.
No big deal. Not like I can't ace freshman comp, so it's free credits.

Where are you going to? And which degree have you (if any) decided upon?

I'm taking classes at COD. Don't go telling your parents, because I haven't told mine. I'm studying primarily English, but since it's a community college, I'm technically just majoring in an AA in Gen. Ed. When I transfer to a proper school, I'll pick a for reals major. This is just to get my feet wet and show to a real school that I can handle a real school again (since my last try didn't go so hot).
