The Way Back (2010)

This is essentially a man vs. wild slasher flick. A big storm topples a Siberian gulag, and the prisoners march south looking for any non-Communist territory in which to wait out WWII before the sun, wind, and snakes conspire to pick them off one by one.

The soundtrack is sparse, but intriguingly varied and immersive.
MVP is the make-up team. The prisoners start out as mostly decent folk seemingly arrested and convicted by the NKVD at random, then disintegrate into scorched toothless gangrenous lumps of jerky. Uplifting!
