Crapola...I really need to check some freaking papers like ten minutes ago. I slept like crap last night. Really hot and could only sleep in short spurts. I tried praying a rosary and it helped me a bit, but still not enough. Tried to take a nap while my sweets is at work and ended up just laying there. really sucky.
And now for something a bit more amusing. (maybe)
to: David Foster Wallace
subject: a (not so) brilliant thought
Dear David Foster.............Wallace,
I am writing to inform you of a brilliant new thought that will be advantages to you and those in your profession.
As you may know the English language is a vibrant multicolored cultural whore. However, there are quite a few of us(hopefully you will realise that you are one of us) who believe that there needs to be more. The English language needs more color, or perhaps something in the ultraviolet or infrared spectrum.
In order to accomplish this task I submit to you "cloft". Everyone is quite familiar with the clop or clopping noise that horses make when they ar walking. What many don't realise is that this sound is the result of the shoe that has been placed on the horse. This is where "cloft" comes in. Unshoed horses will not make a clopping sound; they will make a clofting sound.
In summary, your books are great. Never read em. But, from what I hear they are quite interesting? A bit long, but...
Anyway, since you are a "Famous" author I believe that the word wold gain more support if you were to use it in an upcoming short story or novel, maybe both! Or not. Think it over. I believe that with your support "cloft" could be the next word to added to the OED. Imagine that a whole new addition. Tell me that doesn't water the ole taste buds.
Getting off track again, sorry.
